Forklift snow plow manufacturers typically build their products to order so in most cases, their specifications can be altered to suit a particular application.
For instance, the forks pockets that mount the plow to the forklift can be made to suit the fork size of the forklift. As well, the plow width can also be made to suit the width of the forklift or the snow conditions of the area.
Sometimes, we have a choice on how the plow is mounted to the forklift, ie with fork pockets or by using an industry standard ITA Class 2,3 or 4 mounting. Pin ( or shaft ) mounting may also be possible.
Some plow manufacturers offer a snow plow blade angling feature while others do not. As well, some brands offer hydraulic angling while the more basic, but often more fail safe models, only offer manual angling. In most cases, manual angling is sufficient and if so, the cost of the plow will be much more affordable.
The forklift snow plow pictures on this page represent the two types of forklift snow plows we would recommend to our clients and the model chosen would depend on the volume of snow, the expected frequency, the ground conditions and so on.
For maximum traction when using a snow plow attachment on a forklift, we suggest installing tire chains that are available for most forklift tire sizes provided that there is enough wheel well clearance to accept the chains.
Fleetman supplies forklift snow plows for forklift trucks as small as 3,000 lbs gross chassis capacity up to 40,000 lbs gross chassis capacity.
